AC Trip Sunday - Tournaments

Left my house at 6:00 to go to one of the dudes house to catch a ride up to Atlantic City, it was snowin like shit and I was supposed to be out Aron's house at 6:30 lol... It was about 12 of us that went up to AC, all folx I play with in poker tournaments round here... So we go to Trop to play in the 11:00 AM tourney, it gets capped at 180 and they are now giving alternates seats..fuck that, we go to the Taj Mahal to enter in there 11:15 tourney...its some of the folx from the trop there too so it filled up kinda quick. A little bit over 100 players. This tourney prize pool is a lil bit over $10,000. I'm playin some solid poker, breezin through for a while until blinds get up there and im below avg chip stack steadily gettin my money eatin with antes and blinds...

My 1st powerfull move of the day, im very short stacked sittin on about $1800, antes are 200 blinds are $400/$800 and im in the big blind so i just paid $1000 bucks in blind...i get dealt 2 clubs/4 diamonds VERY HORRIBLE CARDS...flop comes out 10/10/5 everyone checks around, YES FREE CARD! Next card: 2...I'm now thinking to myself, lookin at everyones reaction, so i say, everyone checked, there is no way anyone is playing a 2, no one is playing the 10s cause they would've bet out at least $800 if not raised...i make my move..."all in" 800 bucks...everyone looked confused lol 2 people fold, 2 call me, they both check on the river...1 guy turns over AQ and another guy turns over pocket 6...im dominated with the dude with 2 pairs....so im yellin before the river card to come out come on 2 for the river...RIVER CARD: 2!!!! wow i clapped and fuckin had teh biggest sigh of relieve...i filled up full house!!!!! some spectators clap, pat my back and says good hand! im still in it!

so now im sittin on $4800...steal a couple of blinds, and get up to $7800 couple of hands later... next big move! I get dealt Pocket A (A/A) wow im boosted now, so I put on a lil act cause I know the chip leader will bet into my all in...so i sit there contemplating to all in...after about 1 1/2 minutes, I push "all in" with a $7800 stack...my man Big Syd calls me but he is short and he is pushed all in...he plays with me on Tuesdays in a tourney and he placed 12th in the WSOP this past up AC...then chip leader calls for the full $7800. everyone see the comotion cause me and big syd stand up cause we are all in, all the spectators come over to watch...i turn over pocket Ace, syd has 10/9 suited, and dude has pocket Jacks...the crowd is like WOW so im yellin no jack no straight....no flush possibilities out there so im good...i win the pot! we go to break! with 18 people left! BAD NEWS: I cruise through barely hanging on winning some pots makin my chip stack at $35,000 at one point...blinds at this point are now antes $500 with blinds at $1500/$3000 which is eatin me up pretty fast.... PLACES PAID OUT: 10 (final table) My official finished place...11th 1 spot from the money... I all in with AQ suited and dude has AK off suit and wins the pot with a K hittin the turn...im pissed, everyone claps for my play for the game and a couple condolences cause I bubbled out... the worse spot to finish is 1 away from the money and im pissed the whole day... oh well, it was fuckin exciting as shit!!! but a very very hard loss..... next month, im makin money yall!!! best believe dat!!!! Played wit a pro, Dude named Bobby that was in the WSOP 2004...the chinese bama that was actin crazy and loud callin him a pro and shit "I love poker, This is poker!,

tellin yall, watch out cause im gonna blow up soon cause my game is gettin more solid every day! I swear yall gonna see me win dis WSOP one day!!!

First Official Cash Game

OK, I hosted my first official cash game advertised to the general public on MD-Poker.com

Turn out was about a good 13 folx...I didn't play and just dealt. Had 2 tables set up just in case I brought in a rack of folx. Bought a bunch of pizzas and sodas.

We played $1/$2 NL Holdem. Kicked off about 8:30PM then went till 4:30AM

Everyone had a great time, seen alot of bad beats...I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to study some of these folx to get some tells out of them, but it was a "friendly-cut-throat game" hahahaha

I would call it a sucess with a full table the whole night, and if I can get a 2nd dealer, I'll definately have 2 tables runnin..till then, I have to make sure its 1 table and not more so there won't be a waiting list, even though there was a waiting list,but most time someone waited to get a seat was not more than 30 minutes...

My plans now is to have one every other weekend beginning the night with a free roll tourney for $50 bucks to warm the night up then get into some good NL action!

Thursday Night Cash Game 1/20/04

We played a cash game at my house, very low stakes... $.50/$1 blinds...even though the blinds are small, this can get pretty thick...

Anyway, This game did me no good. I got bluffed out a big pot and it was tilt from there, I couldn't pull out of it, actually it was 2 big hands that put me on tilt last night...

I can't believe the maniacs I play with...

one of the hands last night...I raise with K10suited. everyone folds except the player to my immediate right. Flop: K 9 10 rainbow. I flop the top pair and dude bets out $5 and I raise to $20, he calls all in for $17 bucks over the $15 raise. I turn over my K10 and he turns over his pocket 5 (Why would he all it in with 3 overs on the board?) He turns his set of 5's and im fuckin pissed like shit.

Now I know Tall Jaye bluffed me out of a pot when I flop top 2 pair KQ and he doesn't hit his pair until the turn which is an 8, but there is a straight sitting out on the boad. He doesnt even have connector cards and he is calling all my bets and im firing out $7 to go, then $15 to go then I check the river cause of the straight possibility out there, so I automatically think he is fishing for his straight and catches it, I bet out $10 just in case to feel him out and he raises me all in. FUCK he hit his straight huh, I respected his bet and turn over my top 2 pair and he turns over the 8 and leaves the other card blank which he couldn't even hit his straight, only thing is if he had the other 8 hidden for a set then I would feel better about the whole thing, but he didn't show. now that had me on a major tilt.

Well that was my night, I started choosing the wrong times to bluff at the pot and my last hand I had D beat to the river when he rivers his flush and takes me out the game...all night i've been sucked out of the better hand from fishers drawing for there cards and for them to draw out there cards were not cheap, I made sure it was expensive but I guess they think cause im betting that way, i have shit, but I made sure they know my hand is made and next time ima catch them fishing its gonna cost them like shit...fuckin chasers, can't stand that shit...suck outs are the worse beats ever....

So I decide to reload my absolute and stars account...i ended up playing stars when I busted out and was doing pretty well, I bought in for a 2 table $10+ $1 tourney and ended up busting out 8th place gettin sucked out then made my money back plus a lil bit on the NL ring game i was playing then disaster...I raise KQ in late position and I have 1 caller...POCKET 5'S again. Flop: KQ5, dude bets out $5 and I raise to $20, he re-raises me all in and I call very quickly, he turns over the pocket 5's and im dead...all that money is gone, now I gotta find me $11 bucks for the MD-Poker snow in tourney for tomorrow night's player of the year tourney...

Supposed to be a blizzard on Saturday so I'm going to see if I can get a cash game on for tonight...Holla atcha yall later...

Inauguration Eve NL Holdem Poker Tourney

$50+$10 Buy in for tonight...3 tables of 8 totalling 24 people playing... 4 places being paid out tonight...I know the majority of them well played with the majority of them on Big Syds Tuesday night game. Had to scoop my man Travis plus he was spotting me cause my check aint hit da bank yet...so I had to place tonight to pay his ass back.

I took down 4th place paying $120, doubled my buy in...not bad...considering I could've at least got 2nd place with 1 hand I got sucked out and missed 2 key hands...the rest of the night was perfect, I played the right hands and bluffed the right hands at the right times...I think Scott bluffed me out 1 hand, but its all good...

One hand I think I got bluffed out on 1 hand...Blinds are at 150/300 and im in position UTG+1, UTG folds I raise 700 pocket 2's 1 caller everyone folds. Flop: AA3 so I bet out 500 and get raised to 1000...i ended up folding and Big syd said he flopped the boat so that's 1 A out and I believe that Scott had it so it was a good fold now that I'm thinkin about it [img]http://jm.g.free.fr/smileys/laugh.gif[/img]

I'm moved to table 2 now...blinds are 200/400...I limp in with K10 Off and get 2 limpers with the BB checking to go...Flop hits Ac/Jc/3d everyone checks. Turn Qc. I turn my nut straight. Guy to my left bets 400 and I raise to 1600 to go, the guy is thinkin hard and calls me...and the dude to my left folds...River Xc...I'm thinkin FUCK...I check...guy bets out 1000...i actually sit and think and put him on a flush now that there is 4 clubs sittin on the board...im pot commited and thinking did he hit or not, its only 1000 and im pot commited, I call...nut flush, dude is holding an Ac with a rag, playin my raise with a baby A kind of shit is that? Suck out of the night...so i kinda feel like im on tilt so I wait it out and wait for a crucial hand to play again and start a rush back...

One of the college park boys, Adam, moves all in and im sittin AJ Off...sit and think, and decide to gamble, I even say i shouldn't be calling you...he turns over 10J off...we both miss and I win A high...

Final Table....

Blinds are at 300/600 and I raise my pocket 8 to 1800 to go...Big Syd raises all-in with 600 more to me...so I have to call...we are heads up and he turns over pocket A and I don't even want to turn my cards over cause im embarrased lol he wins, I'm down to 2 black chips...$2000 left and every one is big stacked to me...action goes all teh way around and end up blinding all in on my BB, no callers, i take down the small blind for $400 which pays my SB this round...end up folding and losing it...so BB gets back to me and its now at $500/$1000 so im in $1000...i end up going all in wih $2000, 2 callers...Im holding K8off, and I flop a K...im ahead and I know it...the 2 that are still in are fighting for the pot and I'm thinkin im dominated with a high kicker...I end up taking down the main pot for $6000 which puts me in a more comfortable position and between the 2, the dude hits his 10 on the flop with A kicker winning the side pot...

5 Left, Big Syd All in...no callers except Scott which he won and bubbled Big Syd out, im in the money, jive boosted but can't be to cised yet, i want that 1st place for $600...end up gettin KQoff and move all in, scott raises all in and dude calls and 1 folder, im dominated, i have one of scotts outs though, hoping 2 queens come out on the board, scott turns over pocket K and the other guy fuckin forgot what the hell he had, A8 or some bullshit...im out..

I pay Travis back and go home with $60 bucks..oh well, thats my buy in for my Saturday Single Table Tourney unless we end up playing poker Friday night at Big Chris or My house...usually cash game...but we'll see...maybe I can double dis joint up!

OK, I jumped on this blogger thang all late so Let me catch yall up on my road to the WSOP...

First off, let me start off when I started playin poker...I started playin poker with my boys around the hood really before all this ESPN Poker craze jumped off...We have been playing since late 2000. Why did we start? well im an Ex-Crap player. I was hung up on craps and was losing way too much money at the crap table up Atlantic City. Then we play a game called Tonk at home round the way if we are not playin dice, and max folx can play tonk is 3 we sometimes squeeze 4 in there, but $1/hand, max $3 for a tripple..hardly worth all the hours of game play we was puttin in. So I said, let me learn poker and teach some of these fools how to play and then it was on and poppin!

Now we were not pros, but we did have some wild ass nights, we did alot of Dealer's choice games with wild cards and so many wild variations. The wildest game we ever played was a game where we had a reset card. If that card showed up, everyone that did not fold was still in play, all chips remained int he pot and everyone had to throw there hands in and redeal that game...wow the pots got so fuckin big it was crazy...this was a true maniac's game LOL

Well we started gettin better and started playing the casino way to get us ready to play up AC.

So we felt we were ready after a couple of years playing so we decide to go to the Borgata and play in a re-buy daily tournament. Wow we were not ready, I did outlast 4 of my buddies but ended up busting out the round after the final add on. LOL The strategy was not there yet, back to the drawing board...

So we played many nights, throwin our own tourneys and got better in our play...

I can say I have seen the money in some of our tourneys and even took down 2 of them 1st place.

**On-Line Poker Sites**

I play on-line also, and I must say, this is a great way to get a game w/o rounding up the fellaz...I play on pokerstars and paradise poker more and I play on absolute poker for my online poker league. I stuck $25 bucks on poker stars at the beginning of the year and got it up to over $600 bucks. Played in a couple tournaments placing in the money, ring games are off the hook always making tons of money on those lol cashed out and now im sruggling to get my funds back up to where im comfortable again. Looks like im down to my last $20 bucks and might have to reload that thang on up again...but knowing me, I can get that $20 bucks back to $100 then its on from there!

**More Recent Times**

Now that its 2004/2005 now, I hooked up with MD-Poker.com and the folx that post over there check it out www.md-poker.com I started playin in more home tournaments and playing with people I have never played with before...This has totally improved my game overall. Cash and Tourneys.

WSOP Circuit was in AC recently, and alot of us from MD-Poker and PG Rounders (My crew of poker players round da hood) made our way to AC for the weekend, though I didn't play in the WSOP cause I missed the No Limit event, I played up the Trop and didn't do too bad, of 160 players i busted out 48th place. Not in the money, but definately an improvement!

After coming home from AC, I still had some money from my online games so I decided to buy a poker table and a laptop so I don't hog the computer from my daughter and my daughters mother playing poker...now im broke lol

Last tournament I played in was this past weekend at the Glen Burnie Tournament and of 43 folx, I placed in 8th place, got put out with a drunk maniac. This tourney is well run! I will return next month to take 1st and rack up on more player of the year points.

Well I'm waitin to get off work and make it to my man's Scott's tournament tonight, its snowing so fuck dat...I'll be there to try and make dat money!!!!
