Going back to the Tuesday game the chicks run cep't we are going early. I didn't really feel like going out there in the first place, and the weather Tuesday night didn't make it any easier to make me want to go...but then I thought about it again. I'm sitting at home playing COD:WaW with Kenny and say, aight, lets go, we are leaving at 11PM cause the roads are gonna be brutal coming home freezing over night.
Yeah right, I beat that game up again. I would've stayed longer, but they did some gay ass shit.
2 friends check down the hand after I bail out on the turn, already having money in the pot, after a failed steal attempt with 66 on a Jack high board, guy hit the set bet out, i fold, then his boy says, lets check it down. I say wow out loud and the dealer says they have to play it out, they can't do that. Guy still calls, they still check it down with the guy rivering quads softplaying his boy. I know it wasn't intentianal, but its still gay. I say, I got 1 more orbit, ended up taking a nice size $400 pot before its time for me to cashout when I turn a gutshot with 58h, I owe Travis $1, when that beutiful 6 gives the guy 2 pair and straightens me out and he took a one way trip to value town, and that ticket cost him a nice $125 paid at da ticket booth at the river.

Very Superstistious: The Idiot's Guide to the Herd's Superstitions
We all are poker players and we all have our own superstitions. Some know I am very superstitious about alot of things and I'm so serious about it, that I will cash out or at least threaten and throw a tantrum fit if someone violates it.
Thought I would make a list of the Herd's superstitions just in case you run into one of us, you won't think we are crazy.
I'm not sure of everyone's, but feel free to comment if you want to share it, I'll share the ones I already know.
Here are my personal ones, then I'll list some general ones that the Herd shares at times.
E's Superstitions
- Don't ask to make Change out my stack
- Don't stack my chips higher than the normal 20 chip stack
- Don't stack a 2nd or higher tower.
- If at Pops house must make towers 60 chips high.
- Don't playing while having chips racked up.
- Please if you are my table neighbor, please don't take it upon yourself to change my SB/BB.
- I hate playing with any chips higher than a $5 chip in a $1-$2 NL game, If you are dealing,
get ready to work!
General Superstitions (I'll add more as I remember or be reminded)
- Complimenting someone's chip stack is a No, No.

STT anyone?
It's ok to play poker and have some fun once in a while. I still have alot of last years play left in my system that doesn't fit the "09" formula plus Big Chris has been having a hard time getting a game together for us to play, so I decided it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a fun game at the apartment.
$50+$10 got you T$8,000 in chips. The 10 bucks went towards getting us a dealer cause it really sucks to have to deal your own hands in a tournament....it sucks to deal yourself in any poker game honestly...anyway, blinds were fairly long at 25 minutes and almost the same blind schedule as the Borgata WPO tournaments. I thought it was a good idea just so we could play for a couple hours into Sunday night, but not too late and still have fun playing poker. I guess it worked out, I had fun, seemed like everyone else did. Thats cool!
Big Fella Will took it down, and Kenny took runner up money, it was a good show to watch, the shit talking was priceless, and the the hand of the night, man I don't know exactly how the hand went, but Kenny and BFW had trip 8s, Kenny's K kicker dominated BFW's 7 kicker when all the money went in...that river brought a sweet 7 to fill BFW up to cripple Kenny to the point Kenny just took the 2nd place money.
It would be cool to do something like this once a month to play, shit talk, and shoot the shit w/o losing a million dollars! Wow I played bad tonight!
I learned how to play pitch, its pretty tight, would want to play with more people and play for money of course, but its fun, but then I saw Kenny wanting to play Gin for $1/point. First game I scooped, 3 hands to get 100 to 0...Kenny ships me $100, 2nd game, we ran back, 100-36, Ship me $64, Gets the 3rd game 100-50, I ship him the $50 back, for a $114 profit! I Quit, lets go home.

Kenny said there was fish!
Kenny found us a new circuit of players! How? Well, Guy that used to round at a game I used to deal at couple years ago asked me to deal his game last Monday, but I was getting ready to go to AC for the Borgata WPO tournaments so I declined and said I knew a dealer for him, Kenny, so Kenny went over there and met some girls that run a game close by also!
Today I ran a whole bunch of errands, not only that, only got to sleep a couple hours the night before, so I was dead tired, I was ready to pop my feet on the table and watch some TV and then play some Call of Duty:World at War, when Kenny decides to call me and see if I wanted to go to this game. I almost declined but decided it was a good time to do some Monday recruiting.
I walked in to see the most weakest table ever...Its crazy, when I sat at the table at the Borgata tournament, I felt like the biggest fish in the world, when I sat down tonight, I felt like I knew everything there is about poker...Needless to say, when I sat down, the're mouths watered...and the loudest one of the game, was the quietest one close to the ending of the game, specially I had to send him out to the ATM when he tried to push on me, his feelings were hurt when I pushed all in over top of his ass with a measley pocket 7 that held...
There was an older gentleman there that was bitter towards me...All I did was win 3 hands off him, the pots were not even huge, and only went to showdown once...he took a big hand off me when the wheel gets there on the river and all of a sudden goes all in...I had air and fired bullets till the river, I couldn't get him off his hand...he mumbled after I mucked, why he didn't check...he really thought I was a cold blooded idiot...he said he owed me 1 more after that hand LOL well he said it to his neighbor and I over heard it...
I don't wanna knock anyone's games, but It just amazes me that all these games I have seen, don't offer as much as certain games I know and Pull LESS than these other games, and yet can run everyday of the week....baffles me...

Guess I'll finally talk about the tournament
If you haven't figured it out, I didn't make the money in Event 1 in the Borgata's WPO this year. It sucks not to make the money and make it so deep in the tournament. Not even that, get through day 1, drive back to MD, then have to drive back up in 2 days to play day 2 since day 1 was split up into 2 different days.
I'm a terrible Tournament player. I just don't have enough experience in these big multi-day tournaments...
I thought I was doing ok, sitting through out day one above chip average. I think I played too tight just trying to make it to day 2. I think I played way too tight through out the whole tournament. I hated myself for not making the money, but what should I expect being it only the 2nd big multi-day tournament I have played in. I think I need to re-read some books again on tournament poker, look back how I played this tournament and find my mistakes, I realize I am still in school when it comes to tournament poker, oh don't get me wrong...I'm still in school when it comes to cash games, at least I have a little more confidence when it comes to cash games then tournaments.
But I do believe I have some potential to become a better tournament player when I understand how to go about it better. I'm just glad it happened now. I'm so motivated right now to turn myself around and become more serious about this shit. I mean I'm about to really try to learn this game inside and out...Bamas tapped that tank the past couple years and its time I got my shit together cause I aint gonna be that guy at the poker table nomore.
WTF man, I WAS the biggest fish at table 9 on day 1a of event 1....fucked up foreal...

Travis should like this hand
Playing the Borgata's Winter Poker Open
Antes and Blinds are at 300/1500/3000 and I'm on in the cut off.
folded around to a guy that just moved to our table maybe 2 rounds ago...he throws out 2 grey chips and makes it $10,000 to go folds around to me and I call...He is sitting with around $70K and I have close to 100K
Pot: T$27,200
Flop: 2d5h6d
He insta mushes and I tank for about 2 minutes trying to figure out what the hell...then I thought about Travis and said, you know what, fuck it, im a fish, call and flip my 3h3d over. Dude said "what, you call?" dealer said yes he did and pointed to my cards flipped over...he shot me a dirty ass look and turned over his cards...8h4h wow
turn was a Qc and the river is a Ks
SHIP IT!
Table captain giggled and said, nice call kid, i pointed to my 3 of diamonds and said, i got a 3 high flush draw, plus a gutshot...made the table laugh a lil bit as sweat poured down my head cause all of a sudden it got all extra hot lol

Welp, Made it to day 2
First off, This shit is all new to me so I'm jive excited about the whole thing. I am really not a tournament player at all...I'd rather grind it out at the cash game tables. But I thought it would be cool and fun to play in a big tournament rather than the normal daily tournaments up in AC.
It wasn't what I expected at all...It's long as shit, I'm pretty sure we started with 770 players and they said they are expecting and going to cap day 1B at 900 players, making the prize pool jive hefty!
I don't think I was all the way prepared for this. Its a long ass grind man, it'll ware you out foreal, after all that, I didn't even feel like playing poker anymore...went straight to my room and wanted to throw craps or just go to sleep.
I told you all I wasn't going to be fucking around anymore playing, and that's how I played last night, I had to have mucked my deuce-four hand plenty of times, I didn't get cute, played as solid as I could. All I know is, I need alot of schooling when it comes to tournament poker...I'm just glad and more surprised that I actually made it this far!
Honestly, there are not alot of hands that stand out, I didn't have to go to showdown alot, and if I did, I was good, I don't remember getting into any hands that lost at showdown to be truthfull...
Welp, I'm just rolling in the house from AC to work a game tonight then I'm headed back up to AC to play day 2...Lets just hope I can get some chips early cause I'm going to have to do some work when I start the day out going into day 2 with $T77,700 in chips and level 15 will be (ante/SB/BB)500/3000/6000 leaving me with not that much room to sit around and leak...Hopefully I'll have to spend the night Thursday to play the Final Table on Friday...If that happens, I'll be up there the rest of the weekend to play a satellite to get into the main event that has a 2 Million Guaranteefd prize pool!

Borgata Winter Open
Looks like its carved in stone now. Keon and I are heading up to the Borgata Winter Open to play in the 1st event. Its a 3 day deep stack tournament with 45 minute blinds....starting with T$25,000 in chips...Should be a good tournament.
Hoping to make day 2, so the plan is to play the 1st day, come home and deal Wednesday's game, then head back up to the 'Gata for day 2 hoping to have to spend the night, if I don't come home Thursday night, I made it to the final table on Friday!
Guess I'll go from there, lets just hope I can get some sort of luckyness going and cashing in the event and being able to play more events...Would be nice to satellite in or win enough to get in the main even that has $2 Million guaranteed!
See those of yall that'll be up there up there on Tuesday!

$1-$2 NL last night
Supposed to deal this game, but I had the itch to play, Travis wanted to deal last night, so he took my shift and I waited for a seat to be available since it was already a full game.
12:04 am this morning I get a text from Keon:
"SBJ sittin wit a dime. (Just cracked 2 players). Seat open (1). Let me know if yous till want it or I'll take it."
I replied:
"Eh, I'm high and don't feel like drivin' nomore."
Left it alone, got into some Call of Duty: World at War, and got another text from Travis.
1:36am
"SBJ has over $1.4K in front of him - and Keon is his ride home - I tried to call kenny and tell him - phone no good"
Oh, Chris is playing on COD with me, I tell him to tell kenny, (mind you kenny is sleep already) that SBJ has over $1400, do you wanna go?
We left right away...
I ran my stack up to $800, Kenny made a lil bit, its time to go home...

Wipe the Dust off for 2009
Well, Its been a while...I been writing in this blog for a couple years now. Might as well not stop now, even though I've slowed down writing. You know why I stopped? It just reminds me how bad I play poker. It was a time I didn't even record my win/loss sessions last year.
2008 had alot of memories. Lots of good as well as the bad. We did lose a good friend that was part of our little poker community...Big Jay...He'll be missed. I'm thankful to God that we made it through another year. I'm grateful that I have a healthy daughter and my family is still close to me and have the friends and associates that I see on the regular.
But 2009 will be a new year, start fresh with some new goals to accomplish. I'm raising the bar for myself just so I can stop fucking around and play good. Its not a game anymore. Its time to make some moves and stop nickel and dimin' my way through the year...Its time to step my game up. Its time to make some real money, Its time to stop fucking around.
This is how 2009 gonna go this year...Betta Than the Last Time

Stars $15+$1.50 MTT
Been a while since I posted so I might as well Blog a Brag Post!
Last night playing on Stars $15+$1.50 MTT and somehow they let me sneak in the final table!
I was sturggling the first 2 hours of the tourney Just barely making the money at 45 players out of 315...going into the 3rd hour, I was pretty much sitting as chip leader flopping back and forth from 1st to 2nd...,
sittin at 45 players left, I'm left with 3378 in chips already making the money, its late, lets gambOol so I can get my Xbox360 on...Blinds at 200/400/50 ante I make it 1200 to go, get 1 call, heads up...
Flop: 6d2hKh
Check to me, I check
Turn: 9d
Guy bets 2200, I'm all in for less
River: 3d
my 9cJc is good, ahhh 7506 chip pot..lets play!
Next hand I make it 1200 with no contest, I steal blinds and antes with 66..
Going into the very next hand with 8506 in chips, I make it 1600 this time around, guy I beat with the J9c hand looks me up Heads up to the flop
Flop: 3sTs2s
I shove my remaining 6856 in chips and get called.
Turn/River: 5s5h
my KK holds up and I scoop a 17,962 chip pot to have me sitting quite nicely now!
It was on more key hand that helped me coast to the Final table
Blinds are at 600/1200/125 ante
I'm going into the hand with 54,110 in chips in the BB. Guy before me makes it 2400 and I call.
Flop: JsAs7s
I make it 4500 to go, guy raises all in for 10,851, 6351 for me to call, I call.
we turn our cards over:
E: AcTs
Villian: KhKs
Turn: 9s
River: 8s
DING! Strizzle Fizzle!!
Make the final table 3rd in chips and gets card dead, wow the aggressiveness scared me a lil so I played more tight than I usually would've played...but snuck in to get heads up with the guy...I go into heads up as an 2:1 underdog and just cant pull the win off...we play heads up about 30 minutes and he ends up taking it down and I take 2nd for a $696.94 win...

Didn't know how to play this...
OK, I was in a hand last Wednesday and I guess I played it wrong cause apparently when I tried to ask some of my friends opinions, I got laughed at instead of helped. I know many of times we discuss hand histories together, not bad beat stories, I can't stand hearing those, but I really wanted to know if I played this hand all wrong and couldn't get an honest opinion from anyone, and got angry and dropped it...
Villian is nicknamed "I hate money R***" (IHMR) Now I have dealt to this guy alot already and "I Think" I know how this guy acts when he has a big hand. Anyway here is how the hand played out.
$1-$2 NLHE
IHMR is in EP1 and limps in, 1 caller and gets to me 1 off the cut off, I make it my standard $7 to go starting the hand with $142. IHMR calls, other player folds, heads up.
Pot: $19
Flop: Jc3c7c
IHMR instantly moves all in and has me covered. I tank a little bit and ask, why so much? he then pulls back a stack and says, well how about this then, will you call this?
1. I've dealt to this guy many times and seen him do this before and have a made hand, not necessarily the nuts, but on that board, I'm pretty sure he flopped a baby flush and protecting his hand from another club from falling.
2. Its $19 in the pot plus $135, so I'm risking $135 to win $154 going in the hand as a huge underdog. I only invested a hot $7 bucks in this hand.
I decided to let him have the $19 bucks in the pot and find a better spot to double up on.
I tabled JJ just in case you didn't figure it out...Top Set...I've always said I would stack off no matter what if I flop a set, but for some reason this night, I said I wanted to try and play good poker and not peel off winners like I usually like to do...I didn't feel like running around with a sniper rifle and didnt' think it was worth the peel.
Oh I caught alot of laughter at me, and got ragged alot, but still feel good about my laydown, I felt i was beat and didn't find it worth the risk for such a small pot...
Now did I play this hand horrible or play it good? And yes, go head and berate this fish if its a bad play!

Poker Lessons at the Zoo
I went to the National Zoo today with the kids. I was walking through the reptile house and there was a big rule hanging there...I've been good at this back when I first started playing, but I guess bad beat after bad beat, it gets a little frustrating and its hard not to berate the bad players or the bad plays, next time, congratulate them on there stellar play, eat up your steam and just keep the game going...keep berating the fish, the fish leaves...so on that note:

Taste of my own Medicine
Wow, That shit hurts...
I already busted making a bad call to JP on a 77T board when 5 people limp in for $2 and im on the button and make it $12 to go and everyone calls. Flop comes out and it gets checked around to me and I'm already thinking if I get raised, I'm folding...I make it $45 and get raised by JP as he shoves the rest of his stack in the middle...after tanking a little bit and giving JP more credit than he should have I make the call and just have to prove to myself that anyon that pushes on me will have that 7...he flips over 57
Frustrated a little bit, I rebuy and look down to AA and make a small raise to $40 after i think 3 people already called a $12 raise before it got to me...oh, everyone called the $40 at that...I rebought for $150 and when the flp came out mushed to get insta raised by Travis to $250, everyone folds and he shows me 24, he felts me, I do the "E Cringe" and nobody is trying to laugh, but soon as I say, "wow, now I see how this feels, this shit aint cool..." that was everyone cue to bust out laughing! "I didn' want to be the one to say it," Travis says...But when I sit there and chuckle to myself after snapping someone off with Duece-Four, I promise I won't laugh next time I felt someone with my hand cause this shit hurts...That my friends, is a taste of my own medicine.

2 Lessons: Free Hands are not free, Never Throw Dice!
I rode with Keon to a local $5-$10 3-way rotation game Saturday evening. Keon is a 1-trick pony when it comes to poker, but felt he needed to give some action. So I said I'll roll up there with him. The vast majority of the game are from the old school...I'm talking about 65 and older. We are babies to them! Anyway, I miracly was able to run my original $200 to a lil over $500 and leaked a little bit before cashing out cause Keon and Ricky busted. The plan was to head up to Atlantic City afterwards. Its around 11:30 and we are headed up to AC.
Keon had to stay behind and play Mommy so it was just Ricky and I. I didnt' want to drive, neither did Ricky, so lets just rent a car...we stop at BWI Airport and rent a fully loaded Chrysler 300M chromed out, leather seats, wood grain panels...It was indeed a very nice car!
Get to AC and stop at the Trop and play some poker. I get into the game for $400 at $1-$2 NL. No hands really stand out except the standard E plays and I finally get even, actually, up $45 bucks. Ricky is walking around the trop and I call him on his cell phone and ask if he is ready to roll now that I'm even, I say aight, come to my table and get me when you ready, I said that to buy some time till I was UTG. I always wanna see my "free" hands, but who knew it could be so expensive, He says, lets go, I say, got 5 more hands, 3 of 5 hands in, he hands me a rack to rack my chips up, I said, got 2 more, bout to go, get to my 2nd to last hand and look down to TT...Ricky already knows its gonna get ugly so he steps back and watches the hand go down. I make it $7 to go and get a couple riders and gets re-popped from Mr. Hollywood to $30...I tank a few seconds and make it $75 to go. He calls. Flop comes out KQ5 I believe and he checks and I stupidily check behind him. Turn comes out a 8 and I honestly don't know what happened after...Ricky knows...but the J falls on the river he checks and I check behind...he rivered a set of Jacks and for some reason I tought my TT was good all the way to the river not realizing he had JJ LOL I even said something like damn I was good all the way till the river, I swear, you'll always find the fish in the river! Um...He was ahead the whole time FISH.
After that hand, I cashed out $255 and head to our room and go to sleep for a lil while...Woke up, took a shower and hung out on the boardwalk, played some craps, did OK till I threw the dice...I even said, I can't throw dice cause for some reason the dice just can't cooperate with me. I threw my point, took the dice, one of the dice landed on the side of the chip, 5 up, the other a 2...WTF...man fuck craps, that was a $100 reminder not to throw dice, ended up stairs at a $15 Black Jack table and got my Meatball back from the Crap game and called it a night, had to be home Monday Morning by 7, so we left AC at 4:15am and headed back home...Of course I didn't make it by 7, I was lucky Cheyenne's Mom was running late in dropping her off!

My Pops First Live Game
Talked my Dad into playing some fun poker hoping it would help me get the bad play out of me since we sat at a $2-$4 Limit Game. I let my Dad sit first and watched him play. You can tell he was nervous. The table just looked so serious and everyone was quiet....till I sat down...RAISE IT as I slam $4 shiny white chips on the table...oh that woke everyone up...got le-laised by some bama dude, and fold round to me...CAAAAAPPP ITTTTTT and we are heads up, I bet, he calls all the way down to river thats when I decided to look at my cards...oh yeah? 4To beat that sir...he taged a pair of 8s with his A9s cards...I pretty much kept saying shit you would hear at the pink game, they were pretty confused.
Thats how it pretty much went till the prop bets started, with me and young boy playing black/red for $2...I punished him and he decided to stop it, but bama dude picks it up saying he'll play, kool, lets up it to $5...actually, lets play $5 red/black, all black/red flop is double, suited is tripple...wow, he punished the hell outta me black every flop i might hit 1 out of 8, but I didn't wanna quit...got angry caus all my chips are done, dealer, im $1000 behind. I lay ten $100 bills down "cash plays" dealem' out and play continues. I did wake the table up, and heard the bama dude say he hasn't had so much fun playing in a game like that, My Dad said I wok the table up, it was pretty funny...I had a blast playing at that table, I definately had a great time giving away $115 bucks...I'm pretty sure everyone else did as well, my Dad enjoyed his first live game, which is what I pretty much wanted. I thought it was pretty funny cock teasing the table thinking that $1K was actually gonna be disbursed amongst themselves.
